Dr. Brendan Loehr grew up on a small farm in rural Virginia. He received an athletic scholarship to play tennis at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After teaching tennis for two years following his graduation, Dr. Loehr attended the Tufts School of Dental Medicine from 2003-2007, which is regarded as one of the top dental schools in the country.
From there he began his residency in 2008 with the Lutheran Medical Center where he met his fiancé, Valerie. After 6 years of working in large dental offices in and around Boston, Dr. Loehr decided that he would move to Austin to open his own dental practice. He visited a few cities but fell in love with Austin’s laid back vibe, active music scene, great food, and great areas to train.
“I came from working with a large dental company the past few years where I felt my time with each patient would sometimes be limited due to the amount of patients we had to see. In starting BriTex we want to be able to connect with every patient on a personal level and spend the time with them that is needed to address an individual's needs no matter how long it takes.“
Brendan loves being outdoors. He ran the Boston Marathon in 2011 with a finish time of 3:08, and qualified for the Kona Ironman in 2015. His sidekicks, a very active puggle that goes running with him for about 5-10 miles a week, and a lazy doxle rescue that spends her days relaxing on the couch, keep him busy while not at work.
